Virtus Asset Management is comprised of impressive directors and advisors who led and established modern Mongolia's financial system. Collectively we have over 100 years of experience in doing deals and business transactions in Mongolia. 



Chingun Munkhsaruul, Founding Partner

Prior to founding Virtus Asset Management in 2014 as Mongolia's first asset management company regulated by the Financial Regulatory Commission, Mr. Chingun worked for 14 years at Golomt Bank, where he managed the Risk Management Division and led the bank to become one of the top 3 banks of the country. Mr. Chingun is an active member of the Mongolian banking community, having once presided over the Mongolian Banking Association.

Sougar Munkhtsooj, Managing Director

Sougar has extensive project management and business development experience, and worked on the development and financing of major commercial real estate projects in Mongolia. Sougar received his MBA from University of Oxford and is a CFA Level 2 Candidate.


Advisory Board

The Board is responsible for the governance of the organisation and ensuring its effective operation. The Board considers all stakeholders when establishing Virtus Asset Management objectives and policies.


Mrs. Oyun-Erdene Lamjav

A former CEO of Golomt Bank of Mongolia, Mrs. Oyun-Erdene led the bank to become one of the largest corporate banks in Mongolia. Under her leadership the bank's assets reached $2B and a loan portfolio of $1B.

Mr. Chingun Munkhsaruul

Founding Partner of the Virtus Asset Management, Mr. Chingun brings wealth of risk management and governance to the company.   Mr. Chingun started his career as a banking supervisor at the Bank of Mongolia where he worked for 2 years, before moving to the corporate world.

Mrs. Sarangua Davaadorj

A former Standard Chartered alumnus, Mrs. Sarangua is an experienced and highly accomplished corporate lawyer with specialisations in financial services. Mrs. Sarangua is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

Mr. Norihiko Kato

A former CEO of Khan Bank, the biggest bank in Mongolia by branch numbers and one of top 3 banks, Mr. Kato is an experienced banker with a career spanning over 30 years at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi-UFJ in North America, Europe and Middle East. Mr. Kato is an MBA graduate of the Anderson School of Management, UCLA.
